Milpitas laundry ducts fail for reasons tied to how the valley is built and how the weather runs here. Condos, live-work lofts and the mid-rise buildings near the transit stations vent through long shared shafts or through wall caps on stucco. On site we pull the dryer, read airflow at the hood before we touch anything, run a rotary brush on a segmented vent line through the full run, and pull the debris out with the vacuum at the source rather than pushing it deeper. Then we read airflow at the hood again and tell you the number. We clear the hood, the flap and the screen too, since on the roof-vented runs that is often where the load actually sits. Sometimes we open things up and the duct is fine. Light lint, good flow, hood flapping the way it should. We say so, we put the dryer back, and we do not invent a cleaning. What moves the number on this job is the run itself: a 6-foot garage run out a side wall is quick, a 30-foot upstairs run with four elbows terminating at a roof jack takes ladder work and more time on the line, and a shared shaft in a mid-rise sometimes means coordinating access with building management. Crushed foil transition duct behind the dryer is a separate fix, not a cleaning, and we will show you the crushed section before we talk about repair or a proper rigid installation.
